What is "Whiplash"?
Whiplash is an injury
caused when the neck and head are thrown suddenly backward and then forward upon impact. The sudden impact forces the neck and head beyond their normal range of movement, typically causing tissue damage and pain.
The most common type of car accident is the rear impact, and most typically, the occupant in the vehicle that gets "rear-ended" is at the greatest risk of injury, including whiplash.
A victim of whiplash may experience any or all of these symptoms:
·Headaches
·Neck pain/stiffness/loss of motion
·Pain in the shoulders
·Pain between the shoulder blades
·Pain in one or both arms
·Fatigue
·Dizziness
·Vision problems
·Ringing in the ears (tinnitus)
·Poor concentration or memory
·Tight and/or sore muscles all over
·Low back pain
·Sleep disturbance
